Being human means facing change, uncertainty, and moments that stretch or unsettle us. Despite our best efforts, we can feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. Therapy can offer a supportive space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of what’s happening. I see it as a collaborative process where we explore how your past and present intersect, strengthen your connection to yourself, and create space for new possibilities.
I employ a warm and relational approach, grounded in deep respect for each person’s story and cultural context. My work is rooted in psychodynamic and relational frameworks, and I integrate skills-based and trauma-informed modalities such as DBT and STAIR when useful. Whether working with individuals or couples, I aim to foster insight, support emotional resilience, and help clients move toward goals that feel authentic and sustainable.
My clinical background includes work in college counseling centers, corrections, and with 9/11 first responders. These experiences strengthened my attunement to a wide range of client needs, deepening my appreciation for the many ways people seek connection and meaning. I particularly enjoy supporting individuals navigating trauma, grief, relational challenges, and identity exploration, as well as couples dealing with conflict, life transitions, and intimacy issues.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, and finding the right support is key. It would be my privilege to guide you, challenge you, and walk alongside you as we work toward greater self-awareness and emotional well-being. If something here resonates with you, I’d be glad to connect and explore how we might move forward together.
Please note: Ms. Grunhaus will be accepting new clients in September 2025
