Therapy has the potential to be as diverse as human beings are. It is where clients and therapists co-create a nonjudgmental space to explore vulnerability and show our authentic selves. I facilitate this by showing up with radical genuineness as a curious, warm, bilingual therapist. Using a collaborative approach, I shape treatment to your style, pace and goals. I model acceptance of who you are by helping you validate your emotions and recognize your strengths. We balance this with change oriented techniques that challenge you and concrete coping skills that support you through the work.

My therapeutic orientation is guided by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Feminist therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-informed approaches. Throughout treatment, I aim to increase your understanding of your present experiences while exploring how they are connected to your past, relationships, culture and environments you interact with. As a therapist, I recognize how my identities and languages (Spanish) shape my view of the world, and I strive to continue learning through the incorporation of self-reflection and anti-racist, decolonizing lenses.

My clinical experience includes populations such as teens, adults, groups, families and marginalized peoples (e.g., people of color, LGBTQ+ communities, veterans, autistic people, etc.). My client’s concerns included depression, anxiety, suicidality and/or self-harm, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, OCD, personality disorders, emotion dysregulation and life transitions. Through practicing in diverse settings, like private practice, community mental health, VA hospital, and outpatient and inpatient programs, I have worked with individuals of all walks of life. Because therapy can look very different across these environments, I learned to adapt to the unexpected while honoring the pace of each person’s therapeutic journey.

Outside of my work as a therapist I enjoy dancing, singing and climbing. I also love meeting new people and learning new skills (currently learning Portuguese!). I am passionate about social justice and advocacy, and participate in local movements. All of these interests enrich my life and shape how I show up as a clinician both within and beyond the therapy room.

Therapy can be scary, challenging, exciting and rewarding; just like life. I hope to work with you on building a meaningful life that feels worth living.
