I believe that it is important to make room for all that life has to offer us, its joys and blessings, as well as its sorrow and misery. When things become difficult to navigate, therapy can be a space for reflection, reinvigoration, and recommitment to our goals and values. We may not be able to choose the struggles we face, but we can choose how we face them.

I believe that relationships are foundational to how we understand ourselves, others, and the world around us. Because of this, I value building a strong working relationship with you – one that allows you to feel valued, accepted, supported, and challenged. Together, we can explore where you’d like to go, examine how you navigate the world based on the past and present, and instill a sense of empowerment to make choices that best fit your needs. Our work will also include examining the relationship we will create together. This is to ensure that there is collaboration, identifying what is working and what is not, and to explore how our way of relating connects to the bigger picture of your view of self, others, and the world. My hope is that through our work together you feel you are able to act in accordance with your values.

As a therapist I am passionate about working with individuals who are interested in exploring themselves deeply and finding meaning in their lives. My previous clinical work has included working in community mental health and college counseling centers (Notre Dame of Maryland, Stevenson University, Maryland Institute College of Art, and the University of Wisconsin Madison). I have experience with a wide range of concerns, including individuals presenting with anxiety, mood concerns, relationship distress, childhood trauma, academic stress, grief and loss, and life transitions.

It is important that you find a therapist that you feel is able to learn about your unique experiences, empathize with you, and provide the level of support and challenge you need in your journey.
