My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that wellness and mental health are ever-evolving relationships to be had with yourself and not a destination to reach. I also value the therapeutic relationship developed between client(s) and myself, which is why I strive to create a comfortable environment founded on trust and acceptance. Through our work together,  you may find that we utilize aspects of humor, personal interest, and storytelling as effective tools within treatment. I recognize that we all have unique and meaningful backgrounds which lend to shaping who we are. With this in mind, I aim to acknowledge and incorporate the multiple identities you may hold while we are working together. I hope that together we can explore the many facets of what makes you uniquely, you.

Beginning therapy can often feel challenging and exhaustive, especially when searching for the right connection with a therapist. I hope through starting our work together, therapy feels empowering, while also creating space for personal growth. In our work together, I will be sure to uphold a collaborative approach to treatment. Together as a team, you, and I will explore the life challenges that you are facing, while also celebrating and rejoicing in your accomplishments. I believe that we all have the resilience in ourselves to be triumphant over life’s hardships, and I would be honored to help showcase your strengths.

Through my experiences working with adults in inpatient and college counseling settings (including DePaul University and the University of Michigan), I feel fortunate to have worked with clients with various life challenges and mental health concerns. I also have an extreme passion for working with those affected by eating and body image concerns. I greatly appreciate working with all identities who are impacted by these concerns, and I am growing in my specialization for working with those who identify as men and/or sexual and gender minorities who express difficulties with eating and body image. Through my clinical experiences working with a collaborative mental health and medical care team, I have found fulfillment in assisting clients in discovering their values in life, while also helping to empower them to silence the unwanted “voice” and sense of power that eating disorders and body image ideals can have over us.

Whether this is your first time, or you are starting therapy again, I would love to be a supportive step in your journey with wellness. For any questions or to get connected with me, feel free to call or send me an email.
