Seeking out a therapist can be an intimidating process, especially when trying to find someone who will be the right fit throughout your journey. I aim to create a collaborative, warm, safe, and non-judgmental space. In session, I will guide you in exploring different thought patterns, life stressors, complex emotions, and any other concerns you want to discuss. I recognize that each person’s life story is unique and therefore cater my approach to each individual person.
My approach focuses on who you are and all of the different experiences and interactions that have shaped you. While being a collaborative space, your voice and experiences will always have priority in session. I often pull from different cognitive based approaches, as well as mindfulness interventions. I am continually learning and developing my skills regarding different approaches, such as DBT and trauma informed care, and will incorporate related interventions in sessions where appropriate. Overall, I will support you when discovering how different experiences impact you emotionally, as well as the impact that the mind can have on the physical body. From this exploration, you will develop and learn new coping skills, emotional regulation skills, and improve relationships through discussion of these experiences.
I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of different settings, ranging from social service centers for individuals experiencing homelessness to collegiate mental health centers across various ages, backgrounds, and identities. I have focused the majority of my clinical work towards working with individuals experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, performance- based stressors, grief, loss, and interpersonal relationship concerns. I am also passionate about social justice and its role in therapy by opening up sessions for discussion around different systems and how they impact you, examining power dynamics in and outside of sessions, and understanding the intersection of different identities.
Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you are returning, your journey and goals are important to me. I strive to meet you wherever you may be in life, and provide a compassionate space where you will feel supported. If you think that I may be a good fit for your needs and goals, or have any questions about the process, please reach out.
